16 Technology Blogs I Regularly Follow

Samyak Lalit | June 15, 2012 (Last update: April 24, 2021)

Samyak Lalit is an Indian author and disability rights activist. He is the principal author and founder of projects like TechWelkin, WeCapable, Viklangta, Kavita Kosh among many others.

A TechWelkin reader has requested me to write about the tech blogs that are worth following. Although, it very much depends of personal choice as well as your precise information requirement; nevertheless there indeed are several places on Internet that should be followed for quality tech information. Here is the list of such places that I personally follow:

They provide news and news… and even more news! Sometimes Mashable’s news flood becomes too much to sift through but they do indeed provide timely and mostly correct news.

I found TC’s news quality better than Mashable. TC also does not provide too much of stuff to read –so your head doesn’t spin when you see your reader.

Amit is a clever fella. He is an inspiration for thousands of wannabe tech bloggers. On Digital Inspiration, Amit provides some really cool tips which mostly are quite unique.

I follow TechWelkin! Oh yes, I do! I tend to forget most of the stuff that I wrote on TechWelkin, say a couple of weeks ago.  So, whenever I need a piece of information –I first search on TechWelkin. It’s obvious for me!

Hindustan Times Tech RSS

Hindustan Times is a leading English language daily news paper in India. You may choose to follow Tech section of your favorite news paper in your country. A good local news paper’s RSS feed is the right place for local tech news.

They provide an amalgam of how-to tech articles as well as tips on non-tech issues.

ReadWriteWeb

One of my more favorite tech blog. For news, I find it way better than Mashable and TC. Quantity and speed of news is more on Mashable and TC but RWW writes better.

It’s not strictly a tech blog. The writers provide tips to make your life easier in daily routine. I love this blog because it breaks the monotony of techie stuff on my blogroll and also because I get to know a lot of amusing things apart from technology. A very good DIY blog.

It is a blog that teaches you how to be a professional blogger (but trust me it’s much harder to become one than you think!)… Problogger is an excellent resource of information for newbies and also for established bloggers.

7 Windows

A relatively new blog –but these folks are serious about what they do. They write very good articles about Windows 7. However, I wonder what they’ll do when Windows 8 will replace Windows 7.

Reuters Tech RSS

Publications around the world take stuff from Reuters and republish it. Then why not to subscribe to the source?

This feed provides you with more reviews than you can actually handle!

They are the Facebook experts. This blog is only and only about Facebook –everything related with Facebook. Be it Mark Zuckerberg’s marriage with Priscilla Chan or how-to articles, AllFacebook has it all.

Matt is the person to follow if you are into SEO or money making via blogging. He is the head of the Webspam team at Google. Matt is a key persona at Google Search. So, listening to him is good if you want to know a tip or two about how Google Search is working. Matt, however, writes only once in a while.

Gizmodo folks talk about gadgets. All kinds of gadgets.

The Unofficial Apple Weblog (TUAW) provides great information about all that Apple produces.

In addition to these blogs, I also regularly follow official blogs of Facebook, Google, Twitter, WikiMedia, Microsoft and many other tech giants.
