We are slowly forgetting landline phones as mobile phones have totally taken over the arena of voice communication in the world. Land line phone instruments with a wheel to dial phone number digit by digit are a thing of past. All the remaining landline connections use a keypad for the input of number to be dialed. The following picture is an apt one.
By the way, the real grandma (or grand daddy!) of mobile phones is Nokia 1100. I have published an article on trivia related with Nokia 1100. You may find it interesting. With landline phones, gone are the days of thick yellow telephone directories. Smartphones are versatile devices. With caller identification, you don’t really need any paper directories.
